IN LOVING MEMORY
Fernando

Fernando Fredrick Saenz closed his beautiful eyes on the night of his 43rd birthday and, in the early morning of April 23, 2026, opened them to the loving arms of our Lord and his sweet mama.

Fernando, known to many as “Big Fern,” was born on April 22, 1983, to his loving parents, Frederick and Susan Saenz. He was raised in a home filled with love, laughter, and memories he would carry with him throughout his life.

At just 17 years old, Fernando stepped into manhood when he became a father to his oldest daughter, Gabriella, a life-changing moment that filled him with a deep sense of love, responsibility, and purpose. In 2006, he welcomed his second daughter, Patricia, whose presence brought even more love into his life and continued to shape him into the devoted father he was. Later that same year, he met the love of his life, Aracelly. Together, they shared nearly 20 beautiful years, building a life rooted in love, strength, and unwavering commitment. Through their union, Fernando was also blessed with his son, Christopher, completing the family that meant everything to him.

In 2001, Fernando joined the Boilermakers Union (Local 92), where he dedicated 25 years of hard work and pride to his craft. He deeply valued the brotherhood he built there. He went on to continue his career with Kiewit as a Craft Safety Advisor (CSA), where his commitment, integrity, and strong work ethic continued to shine.

Fernando was a die-hard fan of the 49ers and loved Angels baseball. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures; watching the game, fishing, cooking, hosting gatherings for family and friends, and standing by the grill, BBQing while enjoying good music, a cold Budweiser, and a Marlboro Red. These were the moments when his laughter was loudest and his heart was fullest.

Fernando is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Aracelly Saenz; his heart and soul, his beautiful children, Gabriella Saenz Conte (Richard), Patricia Saenz, and Christopher Jiminez; and his pride and joy, his grandsons, Luciano, Miliano, and Steven. He is also survived by his hero and father, Frederick Saenz, and his loving siblings Amanda, Geronimo, Hope, Faith, Tanya, Wanda, Randy, and Chris. He is preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Susan Saenz, whom he missed deeply. He also leaves behind many extended family members, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts and memories.

Fernando’s larger-than-life presence, his instinct to protect those he loved, his gift for bringing people together, his goofy dance moves, his hardworking hands, and his heart of gold will be missed beyond measure. He will forever remain the missing link in our family chain and in our hearts.
